Date - Laziz Kitchen

We absolutely love everything that's popping up around 900 South.  Meditrina moved to a beautiful new building, Water Witch opened and are serving up some great cocktails and Laziz opened and is serving up refreshing and delicious food.

We went out to Laziz for a little breakfast date.  We love breakfast dates on the weekend.  We can sit back and relax with a nice cup of coffee or tea.  The decor at Laziz is very fresh, different from what you are seeing showing up around the city.  There are some beautiful copper chairs, which we totally want!

We did start off with a cup of coffee and a cup of tea.  For their coffee they serve Publik and Blue Copper.  Both local which is great!  Blue Copper actually has a location just down the street from Laziz but we have yet to go in.

Oh and we love their cute little mugs!

We ordered a couple of things to share. The first thing was an egg wrap. It has eggs, tomatoes, green onions, mixed greens, and a tartar tahini dressing. It was light and not heavy like you would find most things that are wrapped. A great way to start off your morning if you don't to feel heavy and weighed down.

We also shared the Potato Kibbeh. It's two layers of potato filled with ground beef, onions and walnuts, topped with bread crumbs. This was delicious. We would say it's a must try. The flavors are a lot more subtle so don't expect a big, bam, in your face flavor. Our waitress was a sweetheart and brought out a housemade chili oil for Som to try which he really enjoyed. So if you need more of a kick, ask for some chili oil.

At the time we went, they were only open for breakfast and lunch.  Last week, they announced that starting tonight, they will be open Friday and Saturday nights for dinner.  We are super excited to go back and try what they have to offer for dinner.
