Cocktail - Scofflaw

For this cocktail we want to take you back to the Prohibition.  The word scofflaw actually referred to someone that drank illegally. So it's pretty fitting for this drink to become popular during Prohibition.

The original recipe calls for rye whiskey but we opted for a High West bourbon.  We say give it a try with rye and bourbon and see which one you like better.

Scofflaw Ingredients

  • 2 oz. bourbon or rye whiskey
  • 1 oz. dry vermouth
  • 1/2 oz. grenadine
  • 1/4 oz. lemon juice
  • 2 dashes orange bitters

Instructions

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice
  • Combine all ingredients and shake
  • Strain into a coupe glass
  • Garnish with an orange peel
