UMOCA presents Out Loud Reception
Working with local artists and museum staff over the course of ten weeks, nine teens explored contemporary art-making processes and created original artworks that share their unique perspectives on sexual and gender identity and expression. JazzSLC presents The Fred Hersch Trio

Tulip Festival Half Marathon, 5K and Kids Run
This isn’t your average run through the Tulips and it’s definitely not a PR course! Runners of all abilities will be challenged and awed by this remarkably beautiful and jaw-dropping half marathon course. Runners will travel through the Thanksgiving Point 55-acre estate Garden (through over 250,000 tulips, over waterfalls, through the Italian, Secret, and Parterre Gardens), over 5 miles of paths through the meandering Thanksgiving Point 18-Hole Championship Golf Course, and crossing the Jordan River twice.

45th Annual Historic Homes Tour
The University Historic District is located on the Salt Lake Valley’s east bench immediately west of the University of Utah campus. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated as a local historic district, over 80% of the buildings are considered contributing to the historic character of the neighborhood. The tree-lined sidewalks and streets, wide grass medians, and uniform setbacks set the stage for an enjoyable walk through the historic architecture of one of Utah’s great neighborhoods.

11th Annual Nihon Matsuri
The featured guest is the group Taikoza with Taiko, Shakuhachi and Shinobue learn more about them at Taikoza.com. Other features include traditional and modern culture including tea ceremonies, taiko drummers, martial arts, exhibits and cosplayers.

Lantern Fest
Starting at 3 p.m., there will be live music, s’mores, face painters, princesses, a stage show and more leading up to the spectacular lantern launch. After sunset, participants will come together to release their lanterns, painting the sky gold with their hopes and dreams.
