Table X

We are the kind of people that tend to fall madly in love.  Our newest love, Table X.  This is the kind of place that you would expect to be in a downtown area not off of 3300 and Highland.  But since it's not downtown, maybe it can stay a secret for a little while.  The decor is sleek and modern.  Som was in love with the black leather tufted booths.  We would have probably snuck a picture of them if people weren't sitting there.

We opted for the chef's tasting menu and a bottle of wine. They do offer a wine and non alcoholic drink pairing that we may try next time.  There were tables around us that ordered lovely looking cocktails which we may also have to try!

The amuse-bouche was a flax seed cracker.  It was good but at first bite, we both immediately thought the same thing. The cracker reminded us of snacks that we've had at the Asian market.

The next dish is one that they have on their menu.  It is a red beet curry with cauliflower, coconut, and various spices.  It was quite lovely.  It had all these Southeast Asian flavors mixed with this delicious beet curry.  Honestly, who knew beets could be so delicious?

The next dish featured Jerusalem Artichoke which neither of us have had before.  The dish was earthy but not like the I just ate a pile of dirt earthy but the I may think about being a vegetarian and like it earthy.

The next dish was the Artic Char.  This was probably the favorite of the night.  Every bite was perfect, from the fish to the spatzle. FYI, if you order this off the menu as an entree it is a larger portion.

The next dish is one that was special for the chef's tasting menu.  Probably our least favorite of the night but it would still outshine dishes at other restaurants.

Dessert was pumpkin with yogurt and toasted puff rice.  These are the kinds of desserts Sothea loves, not too sweet and the crispiness of the rice compliments everything else so well.

Seriously though, one night and we have fallen madly in love with Table X.
