We have been to Annex many times before but this was actually our first time being back since they hired a new chef. One of the things, Som loves about Annex is the beer selection. They have an extensive list of Epic Brewing beers. We did, however, notice that they had taken some beers of the list.
The service was great. Our waiter was nice and everyone made sure that we were well taken care of.
The night we went, they had started a number of new items on the menu. We started off with the Pork Rillettes. Then they brought out the Ahi Tartare for us to try. We loved the presentation of both dishes. The rillettes came out on a super sleek slate board. The tartare was fun with pinks and yellows. They both were good but both dishes seemed to lack a little something.
For entrees, Som ordered the Lamb Burger and Sothea had Mushroom Tagliatelle. The tagliatelle and the burger were both good but Som was disappointed in the fries. He said they were better before.
We both agreed that we liked Annex a little better before. It is definitely still a good place to go. We will be back to see how the Poutine is. That used to be one of our favorite dishes there.
