Cocktail - Oaxaca Old Fashioned

In the last post, we did a bitters tasting at The Rest and Adam, our bartender, made us a Oaxaca Old Fashioned with Honest John Black Walnut Bitters. Of course, we tried to make it at home.  Oaxaca Old Fashioned was made famous by Death & Co.  So to recreate this drink, we played off of their recipe. For this drink we used Exotico Reposado and Wahaka Mezcal.  This is the kind of drink that if you didn't like tequila or mezcal before, you will change your mind.


Oaxaca Old Fashioned Ingredients

• 1 1/2 oz. reposado tequila
• 1/2 oz. mezcal
• 1 tsp agave nectar
• 2 dashes angostura bitters
• 2 dashes black walnut bitters

Instructions

• Stir ingredients in an ice filled mixing glass
• Strain into an Old Fashioned Glass
• Garnish with an orange peel
